Be Featured On Our Instagram!

We just got a new Instagram account, and we need photos to make it lively and beautiful!

This semester we are starting a new program called “DW Photo of the Week”. What that means is that you all get to send us photos to yaledanceworks@gmail.com, and we will select a photo to feature on our Instagram! The photos can be anything, from stretching at practice to random dancing on Cross Campus to hangouts with DW fam. We will post the featured photo every Monday.

Can’t wait to see what you guys send us!

Practices Start Today!

Practices begin meeting today!

Make sure to attend practice or email your choreographer before hand if you will be meeting practice this week. Remember that we are in the Add/Drop period, which will close in 2 weeks. You must email the choreographers if you would like to add or drop a dance!

Have fun everyone!

It’s extremely important that you are in BRL at 8:30 pm on Sunday, February 28.
It shouldn’t last much longer than an hour, but it’s an amazing opportunity to showcase your choreographers dances and get a preview of what the show will be like.
Can’t wait to see you all there 🙂

DWshops!

Lrel‘s DWshop series starts TONIGHT with two exciting JAZZ workshops:

This week is Jazz week!

Jazz technique is a useful foundation across many different styles of dance (including hip hop!). This week we’ll be focusing on fun, upbeat, clean jazz.

Beginner class: 8:30-9:30pm BRL Studio 303
We’ll start by stretching and working on flexibility, core strength, and toe points. Then we’ll work on technique for some simple turns (single pirouettes and chainees), simple kicks (battements), and start working towards leaps. Then we’ll learn a short routine using the moves we just worked on!
Advanced class: 9:30-10:30pm BRL Studio 303
We’ll start with flexibility and core strength, then work on doubles and start working towards fouettes. We’ll also do some turn combinations (chainees, piques, attitudes) and leaps. Then we’ll learn a short (and really fun!) jazz routine!

We hope to see you there!
