Responding to the “Indigenous/Vernacular” Architecture Question
Paprika!, the new broadsheet of the Yale School of Architecture recently issued a call for proposals on the topic of questioning the meaning of “Vernacular” in the architecture profession. The original call for proposals made the all-too-common-mistake of associating “vernacular” with “indigenous” and “primitive.” The editors of the paper were quick to respond to ISAPD and agreed to re-frame the original theme for the Paprika! issue.
The ISAPD team wrote a response to Paprika! on this issue. More information about this will be coming out soon!
