PC users.
Heimdal Security posts a very thorough and easily understandable synopsis of what every PC user should do to protect their data and themselves. It also starts at what is the most important point in a computer user’s life – the beginning.
Step 6 in this list is Heimdal’s recommendation of Heimdal software. Other options are available to detect and block Phishing websites and malicious servers.
Mac users.
Apple’s quick “how safe your mac is” page tells you what you should do, but doesn’t go into how to do it.
