About Us

This blog is a final project of students in the Cases in Commercial Real Estate course at the Yale School of Management. We chose the blog format because it facilitates our on-going conversation as we develop our understanding of the subject. The goal is to document our learning process, and create a platform for further engagement. To read each individual team member’s thoughts and contributions, click on their name below. Some may have also engaged with the content by commenting on others’ posts. More on why we chose to study Stamford.

Diane Boston is a Master of Environmental Management student at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, an architect, a neighbor to Stamford, and the person who convinced the rest of us to study Stamford for this project.

Jane Chu is a joint degree MBA/MEM student at the Yale School of Management and the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies. Having spent the past decade building eco-cities in Asia, Jane is back in the US and looking for opportunities to build more cool stuff in her favorite place on earth–the San Francisco Bay Area–after her May 2019 graduation.

Jonathan Hopkins is a student in the Yale School of Architecture’s Master of Environmental Design program. He is a native of New Haven and his interests include urban history, city planning, and economic development.

Claire Lu is a senior in Yale College. She is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, and is interested in the intersection between technology and the financial services industry. Her inspiration for her topic drew upon her two summers interning at bulge-bracket investment banks. During her sophomore summer, she interned on a trading floor in Midtown Manhattan, specializing in equities and structured products/derivatives. After her graduation next spring, she plans to work in equity research in Boston.

Alex Popper is a an MBA candidate at the Yale School of Management. His focus is on understanding the people, jobs, demographics, and other human factors at which any investor in the Stamford market would be interested in taking a hard look.
