Under the direction of YDT faculty director Emily Coates and Trisha Brown Dance Company rehearsal director Iréne Hultman, Yale Dance Theater students will present the culmination of a semester-long intensive on the choreography of Trisha Brown. Brown’s internationally celebrated choreography has altered our understanding of what dance and performance can be. YDT’s spring 2014 project has focused on Brown’s links to the visual art world, including her presentations in gallery spaces and collaboration with artist Donald Judd.  Introductory remarks by Douglas Crimp will address Brown’s cross-disciplinary connections.
